Blood, urine and tissue samples examined in our biochemistry, hormone and microbiology units. Samples are processed in our own laboratory and are not sent out.

Blood Tests
The core laboratory work-up covering full blood count, sedimentation rate and clotting tests. Taking the sample lasts a few minutes.
Hormone Tests
Measurement of thyroid, reproductive and metabolic hormone levels in the blood. For some tests the time of sampling affects the result.
Biochemistry Panel
A panel assessing glucose, kidney and liver values together with the lipid profile. It includes items that require fasting.
Microbiology and Culture
Growing the causative organism from urine, throat or wound samples and establishing antibiotic sensitivity. Growth time determines when the result is ready.
