Before the scan, the breath-holding and the timing were explained step by step. I was anxious about enclosed spaces, and the technician kept talking to me over the intercom.

The result of a sample I gave in the morning was in my archive by the afternoon. The reference ranges appear in a separate column on the report.

The programme fitted into a single day, and I was handed a written timetable showing which test was at which hour. The items needing fasting had been flagged in advance.
