Frequently Asked

The questions we are asked most about preparation rules, turnaround times and sharing reports.

Most imaging examinations are carried out on a referral. Check-up packages and routine laboratory tests do not need one; a doctor at the centre plans the programme.

Routine blood tests are completed the same day, hormone and biochemistry panels within 24 hours, and cultures in 48-72 hours depending on growth time. Imaging reports are written the same day.

Every result is uploaded to your online archive and you are notified by text message when it is ready. You can generate a link to share the images with your doctor, and a printed report is available on request.

You must not be carrying anything metal. If you have a pacemaker, an implant or surgical clips, tell us when you book. Where contrast is to be used, four hours of fasting is required.

Fasting blood glucose, the lipid profile and some hormone tests require 8-12 hours of fasting. You may drink water during that time. Which items need fasting is set out in writing in your booking confirmation.

The dose used in X-ray, mammography and CT is kept to the lowest level diagnosis requires, and MRI and ultrasound use no ionising radiation at all. If there is any chance you are pregnant, you must tell us before the scan.
